BRIDGEWATER MUSIC FESTIVAL PROCEDURE
1. Competitors are responsible for providing their own accompanist. Payment for accompanists is the
responsibility of the soloist or group.
2. A numerical marking system will be used in competitive classes with the exception of the Band Classes.
Bronze, Silver, and Gold Certificates are awarded to participants in the Band Classes.
3. Competitors must perform at the time and in the order listed in the program.
4. Competitors should be in their places 15 minutes before the set time for their class to be heard.
5. The Festival Committee reserves the right to sub-divide any class into two or more competitions should the
number of entries warrant such a change.
6. No performance shall commence until the sign is given by the Adjudicator’s Secretary at the suggestion of the
Adjudicator.
7. At the conclusion of each class the Adjudicator will read aloud only the marks of first, second and third place
competitors.
8. Entry Fees are not refundable.
9. No competitor, teacher, parent or member of the public is to approach or speak to the adjudicator regarding a
competitor, music or any related matter. This may result in disqualification. Necessary questions, information
etc. MUST BE DIRECTED TO THE ADJUDICATOR’S SECRETARY who will inform or question the
adjudicator and, if necessary, convey that information back to the competitor/teacher/parent.
10. COMPLAINTS AND PROTESTS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING TO THE FESTIVAL COMMITTEE.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD SUCH PROTESTS BE MADE TO THE ADJUDICATOR.
11. If any person is caught defacing or vandalizing property, or there is any other unacceptable form of behaviour,
that person will not be permitted to perform for the remainder of the Festival.
